Mental Health Awareness Week
This week is Mental Health Awareness (MHA) week. It is a week not just for recognising and acknowledging mental health challenges but exploring the positive changes that are being made to ensure we are supporting others, but most importantly, ourselves.
We understand the importance of mental wellbeing, and research shows from the MHFA England, that poor mental health accounts for more than half of all work-related illnesses. Around 51% of long-term sick leave is due to stress, depression, or anxiety.
Here at redpill we want to support employee mental health and well-being, which is why we encourage open and frequent conversations regarding mental health and will continue to actively do so.
This year's theme for MHA is Movement, and it's important throughout your working day to entail frequent bursts of movement to boost your mood.
The NHS recommendation is at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity a week, which is just as simple as going for a brisk walk.
What activity will you be doing this week to enhance movement?
